Refractive surgery procedures are undergoing constant development and modification. In the last decade, LASIK essentially replaced Radial Keratotomy (RK) as the preferred treatment with myopia. More recently, phakic intraocular lenses have been developed for the treatment of higher degrees of myopia or hyperopia.
